In 2007 while my husband was working out of town, my friend Sue was determined to teach me how to bead to pass the time. Truth be known, I had no interest in learning this new hobby. Thankfully, Sue’s determination won out, and I was introduced to my newest passion. Now it is hard for me to remember a time when I did not create jewelry. Two years later, in January 2009, I sat down with my friend Jillian and told her, "I love my job. I love my boss. I love the staff, our patients and I love working in dentistry; though 15 years of it has taken a toll on me. It gets old hearing how much people don't want to be there and how much they hate coming to the office. I understand, I do, as I don't like to have my teeth drilled on any more than the next person, but still, it is so much negativity day in and day out. By the end of the day I feel defeated. I want to change that, I want to start my own company where I can sell the jewelry I have created. My own company, named after my dogs. My own company, where I, as the business owner, can choose to donate to animal rescues and other deserving charities. I choose how much I can afford to give, based off of my sales. My own company, where I feel I have made a difference in the world at the end of the day." She looked at me, with tears in her eyes, and said, "Erin, DO IT!”
Six months later I was doing it, and two years after, I had to quit my dental job as Three Scoops of Vanilla was taking far more than 40 hours of my time every week. I work MANY more hours and much harder than I ever have in my entire life but my heart is happy and I know I am helping others along the way. July 4th 2018 will mark Three Scoops of Vanilla's 9 year Anniversary and I could not be more proud of what it has become over the years!
THANK YOU, to the many of you I consider to be part of the TSOV family who have helped us raise money for rescues, charities and animals in need, by purchasing our products or by donating your bids from our Midweek Auctions directly to these groups. Over $285,000.00 combined in donations from me and from you all, have been donated over the last nine years! I would say together we are making a difference in the lives of many, and we look forward to continuing to do so.
We will be celebrating our 9th Anniversary next week so please plan on joining us for the fun, July 1st through the 5th!
A picture to prove how young we all looked when I launched Three Scoops of Vanilla back in July 2009. Reese had just turned 5 years old, Toby was closing in on her 4th birthday and Annie as all of 2 months old! Time flies when you are having fun!

Good morning,
I am assistant director of New Horizons Service Dogs in Orange City, FL. We provide dogs to people with disabilities, children with autism and veterans with PTSD. We are a non-profit and give our dogs to clients at a very minimal cost which covers their supplies. I have had several puppy raisers and clients reach out to me asking about your company. Is it just a matter of them nominating us as their favorite non-profit? I have read your story and the information. Any other details for our volunteers would be great.
Thank you for what you do.
